The L.A. Times is presently running a weeklong series of articles on the LAPD's unit used to combat organized crime in the 1940s and 1950s. Granted, I am intrigued by both the Mob and the history of Los Angeles so I may be biased, but I have found this series to be extremely interesting. I thought I would share.
