I am pissed…and rolling up my sleeves, of course. More work to do, obviously.
While I am prepared to sit back and allow people to have their own voice, their own opinions and am resigned to move the way the voting public deems necessary on most issues, this is not one where I will do that. I see no problem with those of us who are already on the correct side of this issue dragging the rest of you along, even if you are kicking and screaming all the while.
And yes, I said the correct side of the issue. There is no grey area, here. There is only right and wrong. Those of you who think others should not have the same rights as you, whether because of their sexual preference, the color of their skin, their religion, their sex or whatever your messed up reason – you are wrong. And in twenty years, when our country has finally evolved beyond this nonsense, your children will be embarrassed by your actions this past year.
Civil Rights issues require action. I hope those of you reading this blog will join me in working to get a new proposition on the ballot in 2010 and work to get it passed, once and for all.
